Day 10 and people are still waiting to hear Rankin’s plans for health care

It’s day 10 of the election Iain Rankin said the Liberals had to call. They just couldn’t wait any longer. But it’s day 10 and people are still waiting for Rankin to talk about health care.

Under the Liberals people are waiting longer and getting less when it comes to health care.

• Since 2019, people are waiting 142 days longer for hip replacements.
• There are 69,000 people waiting for a family doctor.
• Seniors with complex care needs are waiting for a long-term care bed.
• The share of patients waiting so long in an emergency room that they eventually leave without being seen has grown by 45 per cent.

The NDP will:

• Eliminate ambulance fees
• Build a long-term care bed for every person who needs one
• Deliver same day, next day mental health appointments
• Keep hospitals open in New Waterford and North Sydney
• Create emergency mental health crisis teams

And we aren’t done there, Something Better for Nova Scotia is out and health care is front and center.
