Field Worker - Part Time

The Nova Scotia NDP is calling out to progressives in Nova Scotia to be a part of our outreach team. Our field worker will be organizing volunteers and reaching out to voters through various email, phone calling and door-knocking campaigns.

We are looking for passionate, driven and highly motivated people who believe in the NDP's vision for Nova Scotia. Although having campaign or canvassing experience is a plus, it is not required.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Ability to adapt well to changing work priorities;
• Excellent judgement, a polite, engaging and enthusiastic telephone manner, “the gift of gab;”
• Comfortable talking directly with donors, volunteer and voters;
• Comfortable cold calling potential contacts;
• Proven ability to work well with others;
• Work to achieve and exceed targets;
• Willingness to work irregular hours;
• Knowledge of the Nova Scotia NDP and provincial politics;
• Previous canvassing experience an asset;
• Maintain meticulous records regarding contacts;
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Proven communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Bilingualism is an asset

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is $23.00 an hour (28 hours per week). This is a short term, 4-week contract, with the possibility of extending.
