Nova Scotia must strengthen our economy and independence going forward: Chender
HALIFAX – The following is a statment from NSNDP Leader Claudia Chender:
"Donald Trump’s trade war will harm Nova Scotian families, workers and businesses. His actions are especially damaging given our long history of trade, friendship and family ties with the U.S. and New England in particular.
In the face of these challenges and uncertainties, New Democrats support calls to invest in our communities and local businesses, and we know that begins with those being hit the hardest.
Nova Scotia must strengthen our economy and independence going forward, and this shock requires that we take stock of what makes us unique, what we love, and what values will guide our province as it moves forward into an unknown future.
Now is a time for solidarity, for us to work together and support each other as we always have.
Now is a time for resolve, when our choices, especially our choices about how we spend money, must reflect our values. And now is a time for renewed hope, because when times are hard Nova Scotians pull together, work hard and support each other."
