ER closures up, health care not a priority for Liberals

HALIFAX – A growing number of emergency room closures around the province demonstrates that health care isn’t the number one priority for Stephen McNeil and the Liberals.  The annual accountability report on ER closures shows unplanned closures occurred at 16 hospitals around the province.

“Increased ER closures make clear that the McNeil Liberals’ focus on balanced budgets and reorganizing health authorities has not improved health care delivery in communities across the province,” said NDP Leader Gary Burrill.

The Liberals have broken promise after promise on health care. There have been cuts to seniors’ care, cuts to health charities, and today over 100,000 Nova Scotians still don’t have a family doctor.
