NDP to hoist Film Tax Credit changes

May 11, 2015

The NDP will introduce a hoist motion on the Financial Measures Act. The motion will call for changes to the film tax credit to be delayed for a period of six months. This will allow time for proper consultation and for an economic impact study to be completed.

“What we’ve seen the in the past few weeks from the McNeil government is a complete lack of understanding of what the impact the slashing of the film tax credit will have on our economy,” says NDP Leader Maureen MacDonald. “We hope at the 11th hour the Premier will do the right thing and hit the pause button on changes that could devastate a prosperous and thriving industry.”
