For Immediate Release

HALIFAX – After months of saying no, Stephen McNeil and the Liberals have finally decided to return to the bargaining table with the Nova Scotia Teachers Union. Education Minister Karen Casey announced today that the government has asked a conciliator to bring the parties back together.

“It’s good to see the Premier has come to his senses,” said NDP Leader Gary Burrill. “Teachers asked for a conciliation board, the Premier said no. Teachers asked for a mediator, the Premier said no. Finally, the Premier has realized that the only way to resolve this situation is to say yes to the bargaining table.”
