Statement from Gary Burrill on teachers’ negotiations

January 20, 2017

For immediate release.

HALIFAX – NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement on the tentative agreement reached between the provincial government and the Nova Scotia Teachers’ Union today:

“I am pleased to hear a tentative agreement has been reached with Nova Scotia’s teachers. The McNeil government’s disrespect for teachers and the introduction of Bill 148 caused unnecessary delays in reaching an agreement. I join parents, students and teachers in hoping for a fair resolution to this contract dispute that will improve classroom conditions for our children.”
