Liberals need to take a step back on Bill 1
January 20, 2015
(Sackville, NS) Health critic Dave Wilson says yesterday’s ruling by James Dorsey proves Bill 1 is a flawed piece of legislation.
He says it’s clear the Liberal government needs to take a step back and be willing to work in collaboration with Nova Scotia’s healthcare unions if it is serious about reducing the total number of bargaining units.
“This should send a message to Health Minister Leo Glavine that he needs to be willing to work with health care unions if he wants to achieve meaningful and positive reform,” said Wilson.
Wilson also says it’s time Leo Glavine stop picking fights with healthcare workers and start focusing his attention on where it needs to be – on front-line care.
