Lisa Roberts has a record of working hard to build strong and diverse communities in Halifax-Needham. Lisa is committed to supporting everyone in our community in accessing the services and resources they need.

Lisa’s work has directly led to community-based projects in Halifax-Needham, like the community garden on Needham Hill and Future Roots, a program that employs youth to provide services for older residents in the North End. Lisa is also a founding member of the North End Opportunities Fund, a non-profit that provides funds for low-income children from the North End to attend summer camp.

Lisa has worked to build relationships between diverse neighbours in Halifax Needham as the facilitator of the North End Community Circle, which brings people together through community meals, barbecues, workshops and community gardening, and, most recently, as Executive Director at Veith House.

Lisa also has experience as a journalist, including five years with CBC Radio’s Information Morning in Halifax. She has a Masters in Development Economics and a BA in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University.

Lisa and her partner, Andrew, are happy to be raising their two children in the North End of Halifax.
