Originally from Glace Bay, Marian, her husband and their three children have lived in Dartmouth since 2001. A graduate of St. F.X. University and Dalhousie law school, Marian spent her entire professional career helping vulnerable Nova Scotians through difficult times as a legal aid lawyer specializing in family and criminal law.
Marian also holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from Dalhousie University and previously served as the President of the Nova Scotia NDP. She was also the Chief Electoral Officer in the national leadership campaign that elected Jack Layton.
Marian often jokes that she’s never invested in a MacPass because “Dartmouth South is a great place to live and raise a family. Everything I have ever needed and wanted is right here in my community.”
A strong advocate for growth, Marian is committed to bringing greater sustainability and vitality to Dartmouth South, while ensuring that all families have access to quality and timely health care.
