August 6, 2015

Marian Mancini was sworn in as the MLA for Dartmouth South during a ceremony at the Nova Scotia Legislature earlier today, August 6.

“I’m honoured to represent the people of Dartmouth South in the Nova Scotia Legislature. I’m looking forward to bringing their voices and their issues to the floor of the legislature this fall,” said Mancini.

NDP Leader Maureen MacDonald also announced critic responsibilities for Mancini today. Mancini will assume critic responsibilities for the Department of Community Services and Justice. She will also become a member of the Standing Committee on Community Services.

“I’m excited to use the knowledge I gained working as a legal-aid lawyer to help people who are struggling with the Liberal’s freeze on income assistance and dealing with the provincial maintenance enforcement program,” said Mancini.

Mancini will also be the critic for the McNeil Liberal’s new Film & Television Production Incentive Fund.

“We are very excited to have Marian joining our team. With her help we will be sending Stephen McNeil a message or two from the people of Dartmouth South this fall,” said MacDonald.
