Permanent paid sick days for all workers required

HALIFAX-- NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement on the need for permanent sick days for all workers:

“While federal investment in sick leave for some workers during the pandemic will help, we know that what is truly needed are permanent, paid sick days in the Labour Standards Code for every person who works in our province.

With COVID-19 we know the importance of staying home if you’re sick or caring for someone who has the virus. This is also true with all kinds of infections and viruses.

No one should have to make the choice between going to work sick and having enough money to pay the bills. The Liberals need to make sure people are not forced to make this choice.”
