NDP announce Leader in the House, critic assignments

Today NDP leader Darrell Dexter announced Maureen MacDonald will serve as Leader in the House when the Legislature resumes tomorrow, October 24th, for a special one day sitting.
“I’m pleased to serve as Leader in the House as our Caucus transitions to its new role. We are eager to hold the new Liberal government to account on behalf of all Nova Scotians,” said MacDonald.
The NDP leader also made critic assignments. MacDonald will serve as critic for the Premier, Advanced Education, Finance and Treasury Board, African Nova Scotian Affairs, Gaelic Affairs, and the Voluntary Sector.
Frank Corbett will serve as House Leader and critic for Energy as well as Communications Nova Scotia and Gaming Part I. Additionally, he will serve as critic for Intergovernmental Affairs, the Public Service Commission, Labour and the Workers’ Compensation Act.
Sterling Belliveau will serve as critic for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, and Natural Resources.
Gordie Gosse will serve as critic for Aboriginal Affairs, Community Services, Justice, Immigration as well as the Sydney Steel Corporation Act and the Sydney Tar Ponds Agency.
Denise Peterson-Rafuse will serve as critic for Education and Early Childhood Development, Economic and Rural Development and Tourism, and Seniors.
Dave Wilson will be critic for Health and Wellness, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations, and Acadian Affairs.
Lenore Zann will serve as critic for Agriculture and Gaming Part II, Communities, Culture and Heritage, Environment, and Status of Women.
