(Halifax, NS) The Leader and President of the Nova Scotia NDP send their best wishes to Federation of Labour President Rick Clarke who announced today that he will retire in October.

“Rick was first and foremost a principled and passionate advocate for the rights and aspirations of Nova Scotian workers and their families,” says NDP Leader Maureen MacDonald. “He will be greatly missed. On behalf of the NDP caucus, I want to wish him nothing but good health and a satisfying retirement.”

NDP President Paula Simon echoed MacDonald’s comments.

“Rick was a tireless worker who always had the best interests of all Nova Scotians at heart,” said Simon. “Regardless of whether you agreed with his point of view or not, Rick was always someone you could count on to give you his honest opinion, which is why people of all political stripes frequently sought out his advice. On behalf of the Nova Scotia NDP I wish Rick and his wife the best in their retirement.”
