Statement from the NSNDP

The NSNDP made the following statement:

“New Democrats are committed to ensuring the safety and dignity of all members of the Jewish community and Nova Scotians of all faiths. We recognize that everyone running for office has a responsibility to ensure that their comments do not cause undue harm.

Ms. Jakeman has apologized for the harm her comments have caused, and she is no longer running as an NSNDP candidate. She shares our belief that the focus of our campaign must remain on delivering solutions to the issues facing Nova Scotians.”
