Zann: Minister’s decision on Alton Gas disappointing

HALIFAX -- NDP Environment Spokesperson Lenore Zann made the following statement in response to Minister Miller’s decision today on Alton Gas’ level of consultation with Sipekne'katik First Nation:

“The Minister’s decision to uphold the industrial approval and say Sipekne'katik was sufficiently consulted is disappointing. There are very real concerns about the effect the Alton Gas project will have on the Shubenacadie River and the Minister continues to side with the company over the water protectors.”
